Finger Friendly
We don't believe in sharp corners. These blocks are shaped till they are velvet-smooth, and all edges are evenly curved. Small architects should be able to recognize a Community Playthings block with their eyes closed.

Accurately Cut
Since blocks are building tools, they need to be precise, and are we ever fussy! We measure our blocks to the nearest 1/100th of an inch. Accuracy is crucial to the math concepts your children are learning as well as to the stability of their structures.
Solid Beech
Pick up any of our blocks to feel the difference - cut from wood of the highest quality, they are exceptionally resistant to splintering and denting.
Modular
The length of each unit is exactly twice the width, which is exactly twice the thickness. Mini Units are half the size of the Units.
Small But Safe
Mini Unit Blocks are small, but safe. They meet small parts tests per US Federal regulations, ASTM, and European toy standards for children old enough to sit unaided.
