Screens versus Children?

When it comes to technology and education, opinions swing in all directions.  As parents and teachers, we know that too much technology is bad for children. But where do we draw the line?

Is it still possible to cut through the controversy surrounding this issue to discover again the heart of education: the joy and wonder of childhood?

“There is no easy way to relieve the burden that technology places on children,” writes author Johann Christoph Arnold. “But if we love them, we can’t slip into resignation just because we don’t know where to start.”

One way to take action, he suggests, is to give children more “white space” or “room to grow, in a space shielded from the onslaught of the information age.”  Read the article.
