Louise Boyd Cadwell- Cadwell was one of the first Americans to have a year-long internship in the preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. The first three chapters of her book tell of that experience. The rest of the book contains “mini-stories” of her four-year adaptation effort in an American school in St. Louis.

Ann Pelo- The first part of this Reggio-inspired book, “Studio Explorations,” offers guidelines for setting up studio space and fifteen “explorations” designed to give the children fluency using the art materials. Carolyn Edwards and Carlina Rinaldi- This “diary” is the teacher’s daily notes and photographs of an 11-month-old child in an infant-toddler program in Reggio Emilia. This edition also includes reflective essays by 7 educators from 6 countries on the nature of human growth, learning, and renewal. One of the few books that documents the infant-toddler programs of Reggio.
Poking, Pinching & Pretending: Documenting Toddlers’ Explorations with Clay
Dee Smith and Jeanne Goldhaber- More help with supporting Infants and Toddlers in a Reggio program. Six chapters reveal the journey from a child’s first, individual encounter with clay to the moments when children in small groups collaborate with clay and with each other.

Reggio-Related Professional Development Program- This early childhood education professional development program at Wayne State University College of Education (Detroit MI) includes the publication of a quarterly periodical, Innovations in Early Education: The International Reggio Exchange, and an annual professional development initiative, Innovations in Early Education: A Seminar Series for Early Childhood Educators.
