Dealing with Bored Kids?

All of us, including our kids, suddenly seem to have more time than we know what to do with. And parents are scrambling to keep their children busy; to keep them from getting bored.

“But boredom is yet another thing that shouldn’t concern parents—during this time, or any other, for that matter,” writes early childhood consultant and author, Rae Pica, “because boredom can be a powerful incentive.”

Boredom, rather than a parade of organized activities, will stimulate a child’s creativity and imagination. A child with time on his hands will ponder, reflect, create games and dramas, build forts, or discover some hidden and dormant talent. Read more.
